For people with autism any of the five senses can be either under-sensitive or over-sensitive and for each person this exact combination is unique.
As a result the many sights, sounds, tastes, textures and smells they encounter when visiting somewhere new can be utterly overwhelming, sometimes leading to a ‘meltdown’.
A Sensory Story introduces someone to the sensory experiences they might expect on a visit to your venue in a ‘safe’ way: through a ‘story’ which can be used to familiarise an individual with a place before they visit.
We specialise in producing Sensory Stories which are factual, simple and colourful and are an extremely useful tool in assisting visitors with autism as well as younger visitors to access your venue.
